Position Summary:
Responsible for overseeing daily housekeeping operations to maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment across the facility. The role combines leadership with hands-on work, ensuring high standards of cleanliness are consistently met. The supervisor manages staff schedules, oversees training team members, inspects work quality, and actively participates in floor duties. The Housekeeping Supervisor fosters teamwork, efficiency, and a positive work environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Supervise Cleaning Staff: Direct and oversee daily activities of housekeeping staff to ensure all tasks meet the highest standards of cleanliness.
- Assign Duties: Allocate responsibilities based on workload and priorities to maintain efficient operations.
- Inspect Work: Conduct regular checks of rooms, hallways, and common areas to verify cleanliness and compliance with established standards.
- Training & Development: Train new employees on cleaning techniques, safety protocols, and customer service expectations.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain stock of cleaning supplies and equipment, placing orders as needed to ensure availability.
- Guest Interaction: Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests, concerns, and complaints related to housekeeping services.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit reports on staff performance, inventory usage, and departmental activities for management review.
- Performs any other duties as deemed necessary by the Facility Manager.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience: Prior housekeeping or related experience required; supervisory experience strongly preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; degree or training in hospitality management is a plus.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to identify cleanliness issues quickly and maintain high standards of organization.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to motivate, guide, and manage a team while fostering a positive work environment.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with staff and guests.
- Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to resolving issues and improving housekeeping processes.
